The Restricted Growth Association (RGA) promotes the interests of people of restricted growth and their families and is open to professionals and other interested parties. It is a forum for the exchange of information and advice and offers mutual support and encouragement. The website includes information about the organisation, other sources of information and details of how to obtain publications. Gatherings of RGA members take various forms - conventions, counselling weekends, dinner-dances, family days and regional socials. Close links are maintained with other charitable groups and government departments to represent the views of short-statured people and press for changes where necessary.
The RGA publishes a quarterly newsletter and a range of publications available for a modest charge. Some are free to members. General publications include: The layman's guide to restricted growth and Coping with restricted growth. Booklets looking in depth at the various restricted growth conditions include the following:
- What is achondroplasia?
- What is hypochondroplasia?
- What is pseudochondroplasia?
- What is SED?
- What is diastrophic dysplasia?
There are also a number of 'lifestyle' booklets. Titles include the following:
- Babies & the early years
- Going to school
- The teenage years
- What shall I wear?
- Personal hygiene
- Careers, employment & education
- Driving
