The International Autistic Research Organisation exists to encourage and raise funds for research into the mental and emotional conditions of autism and any other conditions that might be associated with autism of whatever nature and to disseminate the useful results of such research. The organisation is also involved in information provision and raising awareness of scientific research into autism. Information is sent to parents, professionals, and anyone interested in autism.

Members can write or telephone for advice. Telephone calls are accepted 24 hourly - the answerphone is in operation only occasionally. The off-peak hours, ie non-office hours, are made available for members residing all over the UK and overseas.
