The Continence Foundation is a national charity dedicated to helping people who have some problem with bladder or bowel control in their adult lives. The Foundation offers information, advice, promotes advances in public and professional education, and campaigns for the improvement of continence services. It offers the following services:

  • A confidential helpline (number above) staffed by continence nurse specialists which provides advice, product information and details of callers' local NHS continence nurses. Enquiries can also be made by letter or fax, but people should not visit the office.
  • More than 20 leaflets and factsheets on various aspects of the condition are available for people with continence problems. Send a large stamped addressed envelope for publications list and order form. Publications are also available for professionals. The Foundation also offers a confidential book ordering service.
  • Support for professionals on continence products and UK continence advisory services.
  • Promotion of positive coverage of continence-related issues to the media.
  • Pressure on parliament and other committees to provide improved and better-funded continence services and support.
  • Planning and implementing an annual national continence awareness campaign in co-operation with other charities in the field.
  • Facilitation of meetings at PCT level regarding steps towards integrated continence services.
  • Free journal, continence review plus, - for professionals.
