Diabetes UK is the largest organisation in the UK working for people with diabetes, funding research, campaigning and helping people live with the condition. Diabetes UK has over 170,000 members and are working for people with diabetes, their carers family and friends at a national and local level. Its activities include the following.
- To promote the study of the causes of diabetes.
- To provide information about all aspects of diabetes. This includes leaflets and Diabetes UK's own magazine, Balance.
- To give advice on such things as diabetic care, diet, family weekends and holidays, insurance and other aspects of interest to those with diabetes and their families.
- To raise money for research.
