The primary purpose of the Association is to act as a family contact and support group for all persons affected by some form of glycogen storage disease (GSD) and their families. Secondary purposes of the Association are:
- To protect and promote the best interests of all persons affected with GSD.
- To act as a vehicle of communication on GSD related matters.
- To encourage the improvement of facilities for the treatment, study, education, shelter, recuperation and other general benefits to GSD affected persons.
- To act as a focus for educational, scientific and charitable activities related to the disease.
- To contact other similar groups worldwide.
The Association produces a general leaflet on GSD and the various types, and has a range of other publications.
