Action MS Northern Ireland was formed in 1976 when a small group of people with MS, their families and friends decided to do something to fight the disease. Since then it has developed a range of support services including:
- Fundraising for MS research.
- Careline - a freephone telephone counselling service operating every evening from 7pm - 11pm.
- Co-ordinating Medicare Breaks, member groups and open meetings.
- CAP - Care Advice Project which co-ordinates and sources various support including befriending, advocacy and specialist support for young children whose mum or day has MS.
- Support groups for young people living with MS.
- A comprehensive information and advice service on all aspects of multiple sclerosis.
