Many of the patient self help and support groups provide resources, funds, information and opportunities for medical research. Many universities also conduct medical research. The following are some other major organisations that are involved in medical research. UK government group which aims to improve health by promoting research into allareas of medical and related science.

Cancer Research UK supports over 500 research group leaders throughout the UK.

Exists to investigate the causes of cancer and develop new strategies for its prevention, diagnosis, treatment and cure.
