Intensive Care Society
The Intensive Care Society sets the professional standards of care in intensive care. It is the professional organisations for doctors and other professionals working in intensive care. It also supports through The Intensive Care Foundation medical research into better treatments in intensive care. Some of the information on their website may be of interest to the general public. For example, CritPal is the Patient Liaison Committee of the Intensive Care Society. It represents the interests of patients who have been in intensive care. It publishes information and help booklets for relatives and patients and gives presentations to medical, nursing and other professional conferences and groups on the consequences of intensive care on patients and relatives.

BLISS provides support and information for parents who have - or have had - a baby in special care.
ICU steps - the support team for ex-ICU patients
A support group set up by ex-patients and family members of Milton Keynes Hospital Intensive Care Unit who have been unfortunate to suffer life threatening injury or illness. They offer support and to share experiences in the long recovery period. They hold regular drop-ins for anyone to come along and talk about anything they wish. The web site tells of ex-patients and family members own experiences and offers a bulletin board and a contact page. It also gives the dates of all our drop-ins and any future fund raising events.
