  • If you have high blood pressure.
  • If you have epilepsy.

  • If you are taking other medicines, including those available to buy without a prescription, herbal or complementary medicines.
  • If you have ever had an allergic reaction to this or to any other medicine.

How to take mesterolone

  • Before beginning treatment, read the manufacturer's printed information leaflet.
  • Take mesterolone tablets exactly as directed by your doctor. It is usual to start by taking one tablet 3 or 4 times a day, although this dose may be reduced after a few months.
  • Try to take mesterolone at the same times each day to avoid missing any doses.
  • If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember and then continue as normal. If, however, you remember when it is nearly time for your next dose, leave out the missed dose. Do not take two doses together to make up for a missed dose.

Getting the most from your treatment

  • If you experience frequent erections or erections that last a long time, you must let your doctor know. Your dose may need to be adjusted or treatment stopped to avoid injury.
  • Keep your regular doctor's appointment so your progress can be monitored. You will need to have regular prostate examinations as this treatment may increase your risk of prostate cancer. If you are concerned about this, speak with your doctor.
  • Do not stop taking this medicine without speaking to your doctor first.
  • If you buy any medicines, check with a pharmacist that they are safe to take with mesterolone.
