Before taking bambuterol
Before taking bambuterol make sure your doctor or pharmacist knows:
- If you are pregnant, trying for a baby or breast-feeding.
- If you have liver or kidney problems.
- If you have hyperthyroidism (an overactive thyroid gland).
- If you have heart disease or any other heart problems.
- If you have diabetes.
- If you have hypertension (high blood pressure).

- If you have ever had an allergic reaction to this or any other medicine.
How to take bambuterol
- Before beginning treatment, read the manufacturer's printed information leaflet.
- Take bambuterol exactly as directed by your doctor.
- Try to take bambuterol at the same time each day to avoid missing any doses. Take your dose just before bedtime.
- If you do forget to take a dose, take one as soon as you remember unless it is nearly time for your next dose. Do not take two doses at the same time to make up for a missed dose.
Getting the most from your treatment
- Keep your regular doctor's or clinic appointment so your progress can be monitored.
- Do not stop taking this medicine without speaking to your doctor first.
- If your usual dose of bambuterol does not provide relief from your symptoms, contact your doctor straight away.
- Do not smoke as smoking causes severe irritation and damage to the lungs. It will make your condition worse and will reduce the beneficial effects of this medication.
- If you have diabetes you may need to check your blood glucose levels more regularly as this preparation can affect the levels of sugar in your blood.
- If you buy any medicines, check with a pharmacist that they are safe to take with bambuterol.
- If you are having any treatment like an operation or dental treatment, tell the person carrying out the treatment which medicines you are taking.
