Withdrawal from mirtazapine 45mg

  1. Hey,

I'm currently on 45 mg of mirtazapine, I've been on mirtazapine for 6 years, I started on 15mg. However I kept increasing the dosage. The majority of the 6 years has been on the 45mg dose. I now have realised they are making me detached and emotionless, I hate that it has taken 6 years to realise this but it has unfortunatelysad. I want to get off them ASAP! Im thinking of having a 45mg tablet every 3 nights and trying to come off them that way. Does anyone think this will work?? I'm desperate to get off them as quickly as possible. Please advise me what to do as my doctor is not very goodsad thanks s d smile xx

  2. Hi s d, take a look on this sites posts under mirtazapine withdrawal the key to success started by Kathryn in 2010, she tells her story, and of how she managed to get off mirt, how she bought the book from c.i.t.a and followed their plan.

I'm afraid getting off of these powerful brain affecting drugs is not easy and takes determination and patience ... Slowly does it

    Keep in contact

  3. I was on this drug for around 5 years and managed to get off them. You can't do it quickly though. Not trying to sound cocky or like an arse, but I didn't find it difficult. Perhaps I was just lucky with that one. Other drugs like Duloxetine or Venlafaxine are much harder IMO. I would reduce down to 15mg per day before going to one every other day.
