Where is the best place for hip replacements?

   Hi

   A friend of mine may possibly need a hip replacement due to Osteo-arthritis. He has been referred to his local orthapedic surgeon but does not feel confident in the surgeon.

   Where is the best place to get a hip replacement? He is prepared to go abraod if neccesary.

   Any help would be greatly appreciated.

   Hi

   I was initially seen at my local hospital, but due to my surgery being more complicated than usual was referred to a regional centre for orthopaedics. This allows thge surgeons to have more options re the choices of prothesis etc and more expertise re technique.

   You didn`t say where you were? ask for a second opinion if you are not satisfied with the initial surgeon`s abilities etc..
