Weight gain on HRT

  1. After suffering hot-flushes and mood swing for 18 months, I went to my GP, who after getting my blood test results confirmed \" You are well and truely going through the menopause\"

I was give HRT tablets and told I would feel much better within 3 months. The hot flushes stopped, my mood was greatly improved in a few weeks, however my periods were so long and heavy I went back to see the GP.

Who then suggested the Marina coil, which I had fitted.

Within days of stopping the HRT I was an emotional wreck again, so after yet another visit to the GP, I now have the coil and Evorel25 HRT patches.

I'm feeling better the flushes are under control and for the last month I've been going to the Gym 3 times a week, I've not been on a diet as such but I am watching what I eat.

I was horrified to get on the scales this morning only to find I have GAINED 5 POUNDS....

  2. hi ive just read youre post i too have had total hyst and on oestragel im 34yrs old ive gained 2st 5lbs in 18 months now doc says i should maybe up my dose to 4 times a day but really worried about more weight gain how are you getting on now

  3. Hi Grace,

I have been on Estradiol and Andracur for 11 months and I cannot believe my weight gain ......2 stone up on the scales since starting HRT.

I would dearly love to get back down to 11 stone, but I'm not eating significantly more now than before my HRT started.
