Weight Gain

  1. This med has caused me to put on nearly 2 stone in 6 months:-( I have been taking it for nerve pain/migraine but has not been that effective even on the max dose.

Even on a healthy diet, you can gain weight on this med, but it can be water retention rather than fat.

  2. Yes I had similar experience.

I reduced my dose a bit, and started eating 1500 calories a day - strictly.

I didn't attempt to eat less as this drug also makes you hungry. Huh!

It reduces your metabolism which is part of the reason for the gain, and it means that it is hard to lose. But I have lost a lot of what I gained although it has taken a year. If you can exercise that will help, I haven't really managed that.

I do find though that on this drug you have to be so careful, even when I am happy with my weight, I am only going to be able to eat about 1650 cals a day to maintain. Weigh yourself regularly and if it is coming back on, cut back again. Good luch, I know how you feel.
