vertigo

  1. i have had vertigo now for 6 weeks it is bad in the morning then seems to ease off as the day goes on till when it's time for bed it is almost gone then as soon as i lay down in bed .....bang it's back again....i feel slightly nauseus but not too bad......i wonder what any one here has done to help themselves....medication is not a option as most drugs dissagree with me so it has to be self help......i am afraid i will have this for ever now it is making me anxious.......so any words of wisdom please....i am 63 and also suffer from high blood pressure[well controlled with drugs]and many allergies [also controlled with drugs].........

  2. I first had vertigo three weeks ago and then had a second dose of it last week, and I confess that it left me stunned as I could not work out what was happening. I had lightheadedness, and trouble standing up and found myself staggering around, which was embarrassing.

I am due to go on holiday at the end of next week and the doctor said just go and enjoy it. I had tests for hearing along with blood pressure and an ECG, and was told by the nurse that the doctor had decided that it was vertigo, but had not told me or my wife who got me there.

  3. sorry your suffering too....it's a dreadful ailment....since my first post i have had some times when i'm ok and then it comes back.my doctor says once you have it .it is very likely it will keep recurring.so i am trying just to make the most of the good times...i had an appointment at a balance clinic[i was referred by my GP]but when the appointmant was due my vertigo was in it's quiet faze so i cancelled as i was afraid with the tests they do on you it would bring it back...the worse part i think is not knowing when it recurs if it will last days or weeks.....it really messes up your life
