Hello fellow sufferers - you have all my sympathy and understanding. I literally woke up one day in early October with what I call a crick in neck/shoulder blade which did not go away and got worse until I found I could no longer use my keyboard & specifically mouse, as this made the pain excruciating - now been off work since. First 3 GPs in group practice diagnosed torticollis (twisted neck) the last one I saw suggested as I was depressed, the pain seemed worse than it was! Ibroprofen/codiene cocktail did nothing, thank god for the 4th GP who a month later diagnosed trapped nerve & possible slipped disc, I now have appt. with neurologist in December and languish at home doing very little. He gave me tramadol & Amitriptyline which didn't seem to do anything except sleepless nights, so today given Gabapentin already the pain has increased but it may take time to work. I hate taking all these pills, anybody used alternative to these drugs? and what is the neurologist likely to do for me? Will post an up-date
