skin iritation

   Although I have been taking statins for several years, my new gp has increased the dose, I have always had a small amount of eczme on my hand, but now I have itchy rashes from head to tow, could this anything to do with these tablets? has anybody else had very itchy skin

   I also have experienced severe itching on my legs and back. Sometimes it is almost impossible to ignore. I have mentioned it to my GP who suggested I stay off the drug for two weeks which I did but the itching continued. I am convinced it is the drug that has done it but the benefits of low cholesteral have made me put up with it.

   My husband is experiencing the same symptoms - he has an extremely itchy rash on his legs and stomach. Our GP has suggested to him this morning that he stops the Simvastatin for one month to see if this is the problem.
