pcos

  1. i was told that i had pcos when i was 15 years old. I only found out through a blood test. Luckly i knew what it was because all the women in my family have it.

Being so young i didnt think that it was going to affect my day to day life and soon i had a long term boyfriend and decided to go on the pill. What a mistake that was, i didn't think about the weight side of it and how that makes all the other symptoms much worse. I went up 2 and half stone in 2 years, to make matters worse my symptoms had got really bad, excess hair, weight gain and lack of sex drive if im to be honest and at 17 years old i guess your ment to be \"at it like rabbits\"!

Needless to say me and my boyfriend split up, and even though i am now off the pil in the last 2 years ive put on another 2 stone. i can't get the weight off. my new partner tries to motivate me but i feel depressed and all the symptoms that i had before are back, but much worse and i don't want to lose another partner like i did before, does anyone have any suggestions about how to lose wait and make symptoms more able to manage?

  2. Try low GI diet, I know someone with pcos who tried this on the advise of her doctor, she's lost loads of weight, can be hard in beginning but if you can stick to it you will find not only will you lose weight you will have much more energy too
