pain in my chest, food gets stuck

  1. Hi I am 53yrs old and for the past4 months ago i started having chest pain and have been

cleared for any heart problems, i am now having tests for Asthma as i was getting breathless sometimes. I now find that certain

foods like bread, apples or any hard fruit seems to stick in my chest area which is very

painful, I go to the hospital in 2weeks time for asthma tests but i dont think i have asthma.

Also when i burp it can be painful in my chest just over my breastbone. I am now thinking I

may have something wrong with my oesophagus but the thought of having a camera down my

    throat terrifies me.

    thanks margie

  2. Sounds like a Hiatus Hernia smile

  3. Hi I also had chest pain for a short time and then the feeling of having food getting stuck . I had a endoscopy and am now on mediction and feel much better . The endoscopy itself is of course something you will be worried about . I was given the option of sedative which I chose to have and although the procedure is uncomfortable for a while it is soon over and you will be well looked after . Well worth having having to avoid developing something serious later on .
