Kerrylee, I have always had low blood pressure which causes dizzy spells and I have passed out in the pass.
Ok.. ![]()
hello all, is there a graves part 5?
i had emails to say i had private messages but when i logged on its all changed and all message history has gone!!!!!!!!!!!
HEY DAVE great to see you back with us mate :-)
How is everyone keeping? I am not to bad but i do have off days and the anxiety has never quite left me its always there at the back of my mind - the joys of graves ey :-(..
Anyway my latest bloods came through and they were ok tsh 3.0 ft4 15.8, my tsh was 3.6 then 3.41 now 3.0 i worry because its dropping but i got told it is normal for it to fluctuate??.Still taking 25mcg thyroxine daily and ive have got to remain on propanolol 20 mg daily as i have the ectopic beats caused through AF.
Kerrylee i could not help but feel sorry for you but you just gotta dig in weve all been there and it does get easier, once your thyroid is under control everything else will fall into line..
Take care, baz
Thaaaaank you so very much all you guys for the encouragement. I rest assured that I'm going to be fime very soon.
Hi Dave, Good to hear from you and to know that you're still in the land of the living. lol.
How are you doing?
Hi Kerry. I had dizzy spells and felt faint. I had my blood pressure checked when i was sitting down and then again when I stood up and it was dropping too low. I had to come off the propranolol, and I've been fine since.
You won't always feel like you do now honest. As Baz says we've all been there, and it takes time for things to settle down. Sometimes it feels like one step forward and three back, but you will get there. Keep your chin up.
Thinking of everyone.

Hi Dee Kay,
I moved the posts that were under Graves Disease (including this discussion) to here, Hyperthyroidism as requested by other users so links in emails about posts may have broken although they shouldn't have. If you had notices about Private Messages these should be on your Message page, click the Messages link in the green tab at the top.
If you are having any problems send me a message by clicking the Message icon under my username to the left.

Alice, all the best in ur RAI treatment...I trust that it will work wonders. God bless.
Hi All
Just to say I'm booked for RAI next Thursday (26th) - rang hospital to ask when my appointment was likely to be and given this one to my surprise! Also now discovered I've got severe degenerative changes in both hips - never rains but it pours! I'm sure the PTU has made my hips worse. Will soldier on.
Best wishes
AgW
Thanks Kerrylee I cant wait!!! Good luck AGW with your RAI you got your appointment alot quicker than me as I have been waiting since 1st Mar and then when hos rang they were booking me in for 26thJuly but the realised I was on block and replace with 10mgs carbinzale 50mgs thyroxine so I had to stop thyroxine as it takes 4 weeks to clear your systom so they had to arrange it for 14thaug.Are you not on thyroxine?I suppose it depends on where you live and your consultant or do they really know what they are doing.Sometimes I dispair.
Hello everyone
i hope everyones well .
my levels are finally better, T4 16.1 T3 5.3 TSH , im on 5mgs of carbs .I go to see the endo next thurs .
i wondered if anyone as had a problem with just 1 foot and leg swelling up ,i phoned my doctor this morning and told him about my foot and leg so he told me to go straight to surgery to see him, hes measured my legs and one was 1inch bigger than the other, he send me straight for a blood test to test for thrombosis, after being panicky all day because of this ive got the results and there normal so i still dont know why just one leg has swollen .
Take Care Deb xx
Hi Debs18,
Thanks for your post ... youve made me think!!!!!!
What date were you diagnosed?? and what were your blood results initally like also what carbimazole dose were you on???
I initially had swelling on the ankles -- it really worried me - I was scared. At night I put my legs up on a pillow so they were slightly raised ... this helped now the swelling has gone down !
Did the Dr explain why the legs could be swollen???
Sorry for all the questions!
Hello
Steph i found out i had graves a year ago today. my t4 was 53 . i was put on 20mgs of carbs then 40mgs but 40 didnt agree with me so back down to 20 mgs a day, it was reduced as my levels got better untill i was on 2.5 mgs every other day but my levels went back up to t4 30 last month so im back on 5mgs a day. i didnt get my results that i had took this morning untill tea time so not spoke to the doc yet so still dont know why only 1 foot/leg is swelling .
Take Care Deb
Morning everybody.
Hi Alice. I was on block and replace and had to come off the carbs and thyroxine a week before I had the RAI. I had to have two weeks notice as I had to take steroids two weeks before and two weeks after to stop my eyes flaring up. A month seems a long time, but all endos are different I suppose.
Hi Agw. You'll be pleased you've got your appointment. It'll soon be over. Sorry about your hips. I have arthritis just about everywhere. It's not too bad at the moment except for my hands, but like you, I'll soldier on. We have no choice really do we? :D
Hi Deb. How's your leg today? Both my legs were badly swollen before I started on treatment. It was because my heart was beating too fast, and the blood wasn't circulating properly. A higher dose of Propranolol sorted it. Hope it settles down.
Hope everyone is ok.

Hi Alice and everyone
I think I've been lucky with treatment- I was diagnosed at the end of March and have had 2 hospital appointments so far. T4 was 45 at first and 17 at second. Couldn't tolerate carb so have been on PTU for 2 months. Haven't been on thyroxine at all. Will take my last dose of PTU tomorrow
. Will let you know how I get on.
Best wishes

Good Morning everyone,
Good luck with the RAI ,as marigold says its soon over, i can remember when i had it i was worried to death, and after i thought you daft woman lol,the worse part was staying in for a while but i got books ,crosswords and other things to occupy my mind, with a few sweets to suck i was okay ,i just drank plenty of tap water and had plenty of showers.
Hows the baby marigold ,is he filling out now. Bess what are you up to hun ?
myself ,well i am feeling okay at the moment apart from i cant seem to get rid of this chest infection, also i have increased my eltroxon up to65 mcgs aday and feel so much better for it i am also taking B12 to see if it will help with my memory problem .I have ordered vitamin D3 too so i hope to see an improvement soon ,the only thing i have to do is tell my endo
but it has helped with the breathlessness and the dry mouth and the palpatations so he must have had me under medicated.I will just act dumb and say i thought you told me to increase and I know my T4 needs to be in the higher end of the range and if i am feeling better maybe i will need another small increase soon .I am so fed up of saying my T4 At 10.7 is in range when my body is telling me it isnt lol
so i am off to rev my hoover up
keep well everyone
take care
sue xx
