Hi my little girl who is 3 next month was told that she has eczema 2 months ago. When she was born she always had a rash and I was always told it was a virel infection, untill 2 months ago, when a locam GP told me it was eczema and give me creams and bath lotion. The creams and lotion did not work so I brought her back to see our local GP who changed all the creams and told us eczema runs in familys. I don,t know anything about this only that my girl can,t stop scarthing and is red raw. Eczema is not in my family. The only thing in our family is astma which my little girl has. I don,t know anything about this if anyone could help I would be very greatful.

Blosem,
I know how you feel. when my little girl started with eczema i was devasteted. Whst had i done? I've tried all the greasy creams etc and different ones work at different times. my GP also gave me some tubular clothing to wear to protect my house from all the grease but it didn't work much and was a pain to keep applying every night.
Last week the nurse in the surgery said she had been to a National Eczema Society training day and had seen a demo of some silky clothes which claimed to stop itch. She got a babygro thing prescribed by the GP and i can see a difference in less than a week! We even go a full night's sleep last night for the first time in nearly a year.
The course must have been a good one. I'm really glad she found these [b:9637ff3ea9]Dermasilks[/b:9637ff3ea9].
Don't give up.

my son has also an atopic eczema since he born (as a new born he had just little rush then at the age of 1 he has start steroide, emillien...cos he had lots of patches of eczema)
i used cream every day i have been given recently hydrocortizone to used on the patches 3 times a day (we have try many others before)
also aqueous cream for the whole body , and face (i remember when he was a baby they told me to used this cream for the bath as well and also to use olive oil)
one day a gp gave me oilatum cream which i find better than aqueous but since i ask it to my gp they said they can't prescribe this one ;(
also in his bath i used oilatum emollien which is very good and my gp prescribe it to me

i have to say we do the treatment all the year every single day , my little boy is 3.5yrs old during summer time he can't go in the sea because of the salt in the water it make him crying and crying
also he now doesn't want us to put the cream on him we have to wait that he is sleeping otherwise he will cry
atopic eczema but he also have hay fever and bad asthma
so he also have to take the inhalators every days with a yellow tube/mask
i have been told yesterday by a other mum who see a specialist and she told me it may because of a food sensitivity usually cow mils, wheat, eggs... my son is drinking nearly 2 litles of cow milk each day and refused to eat vegetable and meat so he eat lot of pasta i'm now thinking this mum may have been right and i think i m gona start a special diet to see but anyone who has done that in the past does it really help? any review from other parents will be very grateful?
i just read about the clothe i think it is a good thing i'm gona ask my gp about this but as they don't want to prescribe me the oilatom cream i'm pretty sure they won't for that clothe !
