  1. My husband threw up and claims he saw 2 worms moving around like the (and i do qoute) "LOCK NESS MONSTER" in the puke. They quickly died he said. Does anyone know if this can really happen?

Can you puke up worms? The hospital had NO advice at all. PLEASE HELP ME QUICK!

  2. Your poor husband. Yes it is possible and they can come out of your nose as well apparently. Some worms live inside the tissue and come out of your body by breaking through skin. Lots of types, so you need to know your worm and the description is too vague.

    1. Has he been abroad? If so you need to go to your doctor and tell him/her what happened and where you went. Risky areas are third world countries but you can catch worms anywhere. You can be infected from water, food etc.

    2. Did he save the worms - I know this is disgusting but at least you have evidence and they can be analysed. If any more come out then he needs to save them eg clean jam jar. If you can't get to the doctor straight away you could put in clean, sealed bag and freeze in the freezer. Having an eg will help them identify the worm quickly so overcome your disgust, put on a paid of washing up gloves and bag it.

    3. Does he have any other symptoms eg pain or loss of weight? Other relevant symptoms can be coughing, shortness of breath, wheezing, nausea, diarrhea, blood in poo, fatigue etc Is his tummy uncomfortable or distended?

    4. Could it be tapeworm? Has he been exposed to dog poo or eaten undercooked pork? Any other animal exposure?

It is possible but unless they know what the worms are then nothing can be done. Jump up and down and insist that they test his poo etc. A worm infestation can cause all sorts of health problems - don't ignore it. Better safe than sorry. If he is spewing up worms then it sounds like he has an advanced infestation. Also depending on the type of worm he could pass them on to you. So get help. Try NHS Direct. If you have been somewhere tropical you might need specialist help and NHS Direct can advise you on this.
