  1. My husband has recently started to take warfarin on medical advice. He drank a moderate amount at his birthday party - as advised by his consultant - and became extremely drunk! Can anyone tell us if this is to be expected? Is it a usual side effect

  2. HI, I REALISE YOU POSTED YOUR COMMENT SOME TIME AGO, BUT I THOUGHT I WOULD STILL RESPOND! IM A 37YR OLD MALE, SUPPORT RUGBY, AND DRINK ALCOHOL ACCORDINGLY! I BUST MY ARCHILLES THIS SUMMER, GOT IT OPERATED ON, PLASTERED UP, THEN A MONTH LATER GOT A 'PE' FROM THE DVT, HENCE WHY I AM NOW ON WARFARIN FOR 6 MONTHS. THE QUACKS TOLD ME I SHOULD NOT 'BINGE' DRINK, BUT TO SIMPLY CARRY ON MY 'NORMAL' ALCOHOL INTAKE. (WHICH I THOUGHT WAS A CONTRADICTION IN TERMS!) I HAVE CONTINUED IN MY NORMAL INTAKE, AND FORTUNATELY/LUCKILY HAVE NOT EXPERIANCED ANY SIDE EFFECTS.

GOOD LUCK FOR YOUR HUBBIES RECOVERY, AND HOPE HE STILL HAD A GOOD BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION THIS YEAR!
