i have suffered sleep disorder most of my life due to a number of traumatic events throughout childhood, i did self medicate throughout my teens and most of my adult life misusing ilicit drugs, however i managed to stop using illicit drugs and was prescribed zopliclone 7.5mg which i took daily, it helped to start with but soon found i wasn't getting a full nights sleep, however without them i rarly sleep at all, and doze off for 10 to 20 min during the day, mainly on public transport or when i sit down, i have just moved to a new gp and they gave me a prescription for 10 days ans when i returned for my repeat prescription i was told the gp will no longer prescribe them.....i am at my wits end, my first thought was to try and seek illicit medication, which is not what i want to do, i am just shocked at being cut off them without consultation, a reduction and feel scared as i went without them for almost a week over xmas and became suicidal....what can i do?
my gp stopped prescribing zopliclone "HELP"

I would go back and see your gp, you have had a sleep problem for a long time and he needs to take this on board and work with you, if he doesnt want to (its common for doctors to say I cant) then join another practive who will work with you towards a goal, good luck
