My dad has just been diagnosed with oesophagul cancer, I am very scared for him

  1. Today my father who is almost 70 was diagnosed with cancer of the oesophagus. He has been having problems for months going back and forward to the doctor complaining of not being able to swallow and pains and being physically sick with trying to eat. It is heartbreaking. I myself am suffering from myeloid leukemia and i have 3 small children on my own so its a bad time all round. We live in Spain, but after reading some of the websites concerning the oesophagul cancer I am very scared for my dad as it seems the prognosis is not too good. He has to see the specialist again in a few day and I am going to demand that I go with him! I have many questions too and I want the best for my dad, he has said he does not want any operations but he will take medicine. Please can anyone help me here, I am suffering enough worry and more sleepless nights are to come i fear, please can anyone help me out here?

  2. All I can say at this present time is that my thoughts are with you and your father.

My late mother had acute leukaemia back in the eighties, and she had a good 18 years after that, however it wasn't the leukaemia that killed her it was P.E
