Metronidazole and alcohol

   My husband was prescribed metronidazole and told not to drink any alcohol while on them and for 48hrs after. Today is his last day of the coarse but he's going to cheltnam tomorrow and plans to have a drink does anyone know what can happen i'm very worried

   Yes he needs to wait another day before drinking or he could feel quite ill, this can include feeling nauseous, vomiting, flushed skin, clamminess, a faster than normal heart beat, shortness of breath and possibly (but unlikely) death :?
