I lost my seventeen month old daughter (Trinity Elise) to myocarditis. Trinity was taken to the doctor on Friday and the doctors said she had an ear infection. By Sunday (Christmas Eve) my daughter was very weak, she could not keep anything down on her stomach. She was vomiting constantly. I called the doctors office that same Sunday, and it was shared with me by the nurse on call that the medication she was taking (Omnicef)was one of the side effects and was very normal. I was told to continue giving Trinity the medication so her ear infection could clear. On Monday morning (Christmas Day) Trinity was not any better, she still could not keep anything down. So I took her to the ER. At first they said she was dehydrated and began to insert IV's into her. Next thing they were saying something was not right with her heart and I should call my family. We rushed to ICU so they could prepare her for transport to New Orleans, we never made it. I have been so angry, so confused with losing my only child to viral myocarditis. I still don't understand why this happened to us especially on Christmas Day. Trinity was such a happy, healthy child with a jolly spirit and soul I will always Love and miss her dearly.
