I have suffered with sensitive eyes all my life, can't bear smoke, bright sun or having anything blowing in them like A/C.
After developing a cyst on my eyelid my doctor referred me to the hospital to have it removed, he never once mentioned blepharitis.
After a seven week wait for an appointment I was diagnosed at the hospital as having blepharitis. I had a cyst under my eyelid and on top of it. I must admit to having a cry in the car on the way home having thought I was finally going to be rid of the cyst so I could get back to normal I now had an incurable condition.
I was told to use hot flannels and push the edge of my eyelids with a firm pressure using a cotton bud twice a day. I was not told about washing them with baby shampoo as I read others have.
I have to say I am a little lazy and the thought of doing this twice daily seemed an absolute chore, so I have been doing it once a day in the evenings. It seems very slowly to be easing it and the cysts have improved somewhat.
I have found the worse thing to be blurred vision in the effected eye, this worries me, has anyone else had this, does it improve when the cysts settle down?
It is a horrible thing to have and I have to say having always been told I have beautiful eyes and now feeling I want to hide them behind dark glasses is quite depressing.
I am quite determined to find a way of keeping this condition in check and have spent time researching the Internet. I have found for instance that eating grapes could help as the skin contains an antioxidant that can be of benefit, also drinking red wine (so maybe think twice before cutting this out of your diet)
I have ordered an eyebag this seems a great idea for lazy people like me!
Try not to get too down about having this condition, the trick is to keep trying different things to manage it, eventually your bound to find something that will help.
