I have been prescribed Trimethoprim for cystitis. I get relief from it within a couple of hours - which is fantastic, as anyone who has had cyctitis will know! The downside to this is that I get a rash which is like tiny blisters - they itch like mad! Mainly they are on my lower legs and the inside of my arms. I had the same reaction when I took the tablets last year, but am prepared to cope with the rash (it only lasts for 2 or 3 days) as the tablets are so effective in curing the infection. I have asked the doctor but because of another medication which I take this is the best one for me!
