I had my womb removed and then two years later my ovaries removed both due to endomitriosis. I went for a couple of months without any hormones being produced (which was frankly horrendous)to ensure that the cause of the condition (which I believe is patially fed by our hormones)had not had the chance to regenrate. I was prescribed the Estraderm TTS HRT patch and have been on it ever since (some 15 years now _ I am 51) and I have never looked back. My one concern was that I have been on it for so long, but the doctor eased my concerns and said that because I was so young when I had the procedure I should stay on it, but at a lesser dose, to protect me from osteoporosis. I get the occassional hot flush and night sweats, but they are bearable. I have had a good experience from using HRT and I hope those that are finding it difficult eventually fing the right prescription for them.
