Hi, my dad is 65
he had hip replacement nearly 3 years ago, and we still feel something is wrong. I thought i would post on here to see if anyone else has had a similar experience.
Ever since the op my dad can not walk anything more than say 50 metres without getting a severe pinching and aching feeling around the hip area.
He can walk for miles using a crutch on that side and be pain free, but the minute he walks unaided the pains startagain.
The doctors have been baffled and do not know what the cause is, they recently tried Lumbar decompression surgery and again after weeks of recovery, the walking situation remains the same.
They have done MRI scans, epidural injections and other things and still the doctors here are lost.
The lumbar surgery was a last resort as the doctor felt he could find nothing wrong with the hip and felt it might be the spine causing the problem. It isn't.
Any knowledge or advice much appreciated, thanks
