headaches possible tension.

   ive been suffering with migraines for years, but last year i started with a constant headache for about 3 weeks, the doctor told me to get my eyes tested as at the time i was taking driving lessons, and he said it was eye strain due to concentrating hard he also prescribed 25mg amitrptaline(spelling not correct) , i went to the optitions who said glasses may or may not help, i decided to c if glasses worked, they did for a while, then in october last year my grandmother died and my girlfreind wasnt supportive and eventually left me, and the nmy headaches came backi went to the doctor in january this year and he told me it was tension headaches, he upped my amitriptiline to 50mg, but things still arnt good, its really getting me down having headache every day, i dnt have a particulary stressful job so its not stress form there, can anybody help?

   i too, suffered really bad headaches which i thought were migraines (although i didnt get auras or vomitting). i tried every preventative the doctor could think of, acupuncture, vitamins, i was referred to an ENt consultant to rule out any thing as the pains were in my face as well. I went to another doctor in the practice and she suggested going to the oesteopath and referred me (on the NHS). It turned out the tension in my neck and shoulders was causing the pains and after 6 treatments i was so much better and if i now get a bad headache, tablets that previously didnt touch the pain worked!(Boots tension headache tablets)!! try it it may help, good luck
