Does anyone have the same erratic tiredness symptons as...

Does anyone have the same erratic tiredness symptons as me? I was diagnosed with an underactive thyroid 3 months ago and, at the moment, I take 100 mcg thyroxin a day. When I make an effort and go out shopping or do some housework, the next day I am so tired that I spend most of the day resting. Now this routine has become part of my life, where I know that my attempts to lead a normal life for one day, will mean the next two days will be spent recharging my batteries. Still, not to grumble as on a positive note this illness has sure curbed my shopaholic sprees. Good luck to all my fellow sufferers, we will all have to just keep going back to our GP, with a friend for support, until we are listened to and prescribed the right treatment.

Hello lol, Many thanks for your feedback which has been a great help. It was so comforting to realise that I am not alone. Well done for doing the line dancing, it is a step in the right direction. I use to go to the gym but now I have had to drop out due to lack of energy. My daughter is sympathetic as she has an underactive thyroid, but my son thinks my tiredness can be corrected by diet and exercise at a gym, (which is fine if only I had the same amount of energy each day to get out and do some), so I avoid talking to him about the subject.

You hit the nail on the head when you said you wake up with a hangover (without the drink) - if I am out and about shopping etc one day, by the time evening arrives I have already crashed out on the settee or on a garden chair before I stumble up to bed and I am still groggy the next morning. I am due to see my doctor shortly and I am going to ask him to refer me to a specialist so that I can have further tests done. I am taking my sympathetic hubby with me for support, as the doctor does not always appear to be listening to me when I am on my own. I will keep on fighting until I get the help I need. I sincerely hope you will be well soon even though the return to good health is not always straight forward. Linda.
