bit more positive

  1. Hi,

i ve been taking metaz for about five weeks now and i m due to up my dose to 45 mg from 30 tom nite. Have to say i m actually starting to feel better, i was taking doxepin with the mirtaz originally but i ve been slowly weaned off those. Currently taking diazepam for anxiety and temazepam to help me sleep-was having really disturbing dreams, much like those described in most of the posts i ve read. The temazepam did help initially, but i ve been taking it for eight days now and just can t seem to stay asleep, which is really annoying cos i feel so knackered all of the time?? I ve gone thru the various stages of feeling completely numb to now feeling very irritable-is this a side effect of the mirtaz?? the weight things a bit of a worry, but guess nearly everyone on here has the same problem with that?

  2. Hi girlinthecornershop,

Another positive review for Mt!!! Am I the only one to have a sh*t reaction to it????

Temezepam is a curse of a drug if you use it regularly. I've tried many sleeping aids and this one was not good as taking it on successive nights actually builds up an immunity to it. Diazapam is the same class but again short-term only.

One option I'd advocate trying is Melatonin. Unfortunately it is only available in the states (at least when I was using it; try Holland+Barrett or Whole-Foods if there is one nearby) but this gives quite a punchy-hangover feeling the next morning. I also tried Nytol for a long while (I was an insomniac for about 10-18 months a while back), but this also gives a hungover effect.

Whatever you choose, try and mix and match so as your body doesn't build up a tollerance to any one in particular. Saying that, I konk out on a range of 7 pills, so maybe my advice is not to be taken literally and you should see your GP about this.

    Silent..
