BBC participants needed

   I am working for the BBC and we are making a new series examining various aspects of the the NHS and in particular, are looking at the issue of waiting times for operations. We are looking to talk to people who are waiting for hip replacement operations on the NHS about the waits they are experiencing and what this means for them.

   At this stage any conversation would be in confidence, with no obligation to appear on camera. We would like to hear from you asap.

   i am 39 and have been recently diagnosed with osteoarthritis. My gp has told me i will need hip surgery and has referred me \"urgently\" in august but as yet i have not had any appointments. I am in pain all the time despite many painkillers. Oh and i work for the nhs!! No staff perks here!! :roll:

   hi my son is 17 and just been told he needs a total hip replacemet asap

   following complicatios in a condition known as s.u.f.e slipped upper femmeral ephyses never know if i have spelt that right.

   waiting time on all his hip ops has been appr 3 months

   What i want to ask you is this is a condition that goes unrecognised by parents and gp,s ours put it down to growing pains how can i go about letting people know of the condition and the symtoms it affects both boys and girls who are either overweight or as in my sons case growing quite rappidly boys 13 and girls 12 so i think it needs publicing as my son is now dissabled and with a little knowledge could have been prevented
