  1. Am 68 year old pensioner whose original bladder infection was perscribed 6 tabs trimethoprine and Canistom cream.

Unfortunately, it very quickly resulted in an overall bodily bubbly red blotchy rash from knees to neck and arms - which has been even more uncomfortable and overall unsightly result.

Recommended Piriton tablets and Calamine lotion application have not stopped the rash, constant irritation even after two weeks! (my local surgery are aware and noted such effects).

    JH - North Wales.

  2. I took these tablets for one week, after they were prescribed for a urinary tract infection. As an insulin dependent diabetic, I had expected my blood sugars to be raised ( I had an infection after all) the tablets significantly increased my glucose levels however to the point where on some days I had to increase insulin doses and was also required to take additional injections. My skin started being itchy on Friday over the weekend I developped a severe rash over most of my body. This is extremely itchy and red. No idea how long this will linger. sad
