my son was in an accident at school in nov 2005 the school did not recognise that he had major injury i was called as he was upset and wanted to go home by the time we got there he had been sitting in a wheelchair for an hour and half i was at work so had to get cover
as soon as i saw him i knew he was injured and looked in shock we had to argue with school to call an ambulance as was not there policy to do so i completley forgot my phone was in my bag (shock)
ambulance eventualy arrived they had to knock him out with entinox to move him on arrival at hospital (five min away)he was taken straight to trauma room xrays showed he had broken hip through growth plate he was put in traction for 48hrs and operated on 2 days later pin in hip we thought he be ok after allowing for recovery but after a second pin failed as well my son developed avasculer necrosis in april 2006 he was put in a wheelchair and we were told this was how it would be until he was 26 he was only 14 at time our world fell apart our home was not wheel chair friendly we needed wide doors stair lift wet room ramps we had to leave our lovely home we found a house am still there but never has felt like home then one day we saw a different doctor he told us about an operation and reffered my son he has had two operations since they got him out of wheelchair
but over last year his hip so bad his doctor suprised he can walk but he does even though in pain all time we saw surgeon in november he is now waiting to go in april aor may for total hip replacement i am realy worried as he will be only 18 about his future health and obv more ops in his lifetime sorry long winded but tonight im feeling very low the past 4yrs 4 mths been hell
