i was wondering if anybody else was this young and how things went for them thanx

  2. Hi, has your son had is op yet? im 21, and when i was 9 i got diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis. and at 12 the doctors after 4 months of hell finally gave me an xray(they put me through extensive physiotherapy i was told later by the nurses on my ward noone belived the pain i said i was in ) and discovered both my hip joints had crumbled away. i got my double hip when i was 14. iam not going to lie it was a very hard time of my life and it took a lot of will power to get through it but having my family and friends support made it that little bit easier.and i would not regret the op for 1 second it gave me my life back! they only thing with having the op so young i you have to be extra carefull as with being so youn you use them a lot more than someone getting it in thier later years.

the only reason i got my hip op at that age was that i had stopped growing already due to being on steriods several years before so in a way i was lucky i didnt need to wait.

i empathise with your situaton its hard to find people who would understand i didnt have anyone at the time.
