In the last 3 quarters to date, Patient UK has been ranked in the top 4 in the 'Health and Medical - Information' industry based on the market share of UK visits it has received.

As Hitwise reports on the anonymous online usage and search behaviour of more than 8.43 million UK Internet users, the largest online sample of its kind, this unique awards programme recognises excellence in online performance through public popularity.

Note users are notoriously difficult to count and particularly difficult in health, where a large number of site users appear to come from a single IP address, the NHS Gateway. Our solution is to directly measure server sessions, subtracting user agents and other computer generated traffic. Page views are easier and although we also directly measure these, our figures tally with the Google Analytics analysis generated from tracker code on each PUK page.
